WLA Health & Care AG has launched an equine inhalation system built on the vibrating mesh technology of leading Irish medical technology company, Aerogen®
Kreuzlingen, Switzerland / Galway, Ireland, 15.10.26 — WLA Health & Care AG has launched the BIBO Pulmifier® Equine, an equine inhalation system built on the vibrating mesh technology of Aerogen®, with whom WLA has signed a strategic partnership. Aerogen® is the world leader in acute care aerosol drug delivery with over 25 years of experience. This gives horse owners, riders, and stable professionals an equine inhalation device built with core technology used in human medicine, where reliability and consistent performance are mandatory.
Healthy airways are essential for every horse, from leisure partners to elite sport horses. Owners who frequently deploy equine inhalation need a device that delivers the same performance, day after day. That is exactly what the BIBO Pulmifier® Equine was designed for: delivering up to 2,000 doses that perform consistently with every use.
Vibrating mesh technology uses precision-made mesh that vibrates at a very high frequency, to turn liquid medication into an aerosol. Within hospital settings, Aerogen® has established its products and technology as the standard in acute and critical intensive care. With the BIBO Pulmifier® Equine, the proven efficacy and reliability are now available in the stable.
The launch is borne out of a strategic partnership between WLA Health & Care AG and Aerogen®. WLA Health believed that Aerogen’s vibrating mesh technology could set a new standard in animal health, having already supported over 30 million respiratory patients in 80 countries. The result is the BIBO Pulmifier® Equine, the new standard for equine inhalation in Europe.
“For many years, I worked towards making a technology available to horses that is as reliable as human medicine. Seeing this become a reality makes me incredibly proud. The collaboration with Aerogen® — a proven leader in aerosol drug delivery — has made this product a reality. For me, it is the fulfilment of a long-held goal."
“Aerogen’s vibrating mesh technology has proven its efficacy in over 30 million respiratory patients. This strategic partnership brings that technology from human healthcare into equine care. But taking our technology into a new field is not just a question of engineering. You need people with a unique understanding of the sector. In WLA Health & Care AG, we found the right partner and look forward to delivering the future of equine inhalation care together."
From 15 October 2026, the BIBO Pulmifier® Equine is available across Europe via www.bibo-pulmifier.com.
